Turkey's first large cavitation tunnel and maneuvering test system (KATMANSIS) opened

The opening ceremony of the Cavitation Tunnel and Maneuvering Test System (KATMANSIS) for the improvement of the hydro-acoustic characteristics of Turkish naval ships supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and carried out by ADİK Shipyard, ASELSAN, Istanbul Technical University (ITU), ITUNOVA and ARI Teknokent was held at our faculty.
Prof Emin KORKUT, the dean of our faculty, who delivered the opening speech of the ceremony, made a detailed presentation about the ITU-CAT and KATMANSIS projects. Prof Emin KORKUT, in his speech, drew attention to the importance of the project and gave information about the process from the beginning to the present.
